Targeting

Targeting

Target Instagram users and their media by Tags, Locations, Usernames, or a combination. You’ve got the power!

Tags

Tags are one way to target media on Instagram for your main Actions, such as liking, commenting, or following.

To use Tags as your targeting method, turn on Tags in the Targeting category of your Activity Settings.

Then, scroll down the Activity page to Tags list and add some tags. Add popular hashtags in your niche to ensure that you’re interacting with Instagram users who will be interested in your account.

Simply type in a hashtag and click the green Search button to see other recommended hashtags. Select all the hashtags you want to add to your Targeting, and then scroll down and click the green Add button.

Be sure to monitor your hashtags. If you find that certain groups of hashtags are not producing the desired results, test different hashtag groups, or other Targeting methods.

Some Instagram users tag their photos with hashtags that represent the type of media they’ve posted. For example, a photo of a cat might be tagged with #catlover or #persiancats. Using hashtags to target media on Instagram is a way to interact with specific types of content in your niche.

If you select Tags, you’ll need to scroll down the page and add tags. Make sure you’re adding popular tags in your niche. It’s up to you to test out different sets of tags to see what works the best for you. You can add up to 1000 tags.

Locations

Locations are one way to target media on Instagram for your main Actions, such as liking, commenting, or following.

To use Locations as your targeting method, turn on Locations in the Targeting category of your Activity Settings.

Then, scroll down the Activity page to Locations list and add some locations. This is where you will input the locations you want to target. You can input countries, cities, restaurants, venue, shops, etc.

XPLOD Social works best when you select high quality locations that fit your niche.

Some Instagram users geotag their photos with a location. This is one way to target users who may live in a specific region.

If you select Locations, you’ll need to scroll down the page and add geolocations. This is a great option for local businesses. You can enter the name of your business and target customers. Or, enter the names of competitors. You can add up to 100 locations.

If you select Usernames, or All, be sure to scroll down on your Activity page to Usernames list and add some usernames. We suggest that you start out with a few highly targeted usernames in your niche that have great engagement rates.
